Dish Network announced during the 2014 Consumer Electronics show that they will be releasing an app that will allow owners of the console to use their systems as virtual Dish Set-Top Boxes. You will however, need a Dish Hopper subscription to use the service.
Dish Network said that the app they are working on will allow people to use all they functions they would get by using the Hopper Whole-Home HD DVR hardware, which would include watching live and recorded TV programs.
Once you install the app you can control the dish app with a DualShock 4 Controller or your dish remote. If you are attending the 2014 CES this week, you can check out a demo they have setup at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Central Hall at Booth #8243.
