PlayStation 4 Games Under Development

I think we’ve heard this rumor before, but it’s resurfacing once more with a different source this time.

According to Develop-Online.net, a “trusted source” has stated that Sony already has several game projects in the earliest stages for the PS4. While it wasn’t stated which companies were doing so, supposedly the PS4 already has games underway.

Okay, we buy it, especially if the PS4 does release in the next few years (we’re all hoping for 2014 or sooner, after all). It takes at least 18 months for a game to release, about the same amount of time it takes for a new console to be developed. But for games to start being developed for the PS4 today, that means there is a prototype PS4 somewhere out there.

There are release rumors about the PlayStation 4 already, in case you aren’t caught up. While Sony will never respond to “rumors and speculation”, we do know a lot of their time recently has been spent on the PS Vita.

No matter what, though, we do know the PS4 will be coming in the future. Stay tuned for more information!

Most Anticipated PS Vita Games

Within the next five months, the PS Vita will be on shelves everywhere. The latest date it could release is March 31, 2011, but the odds of a February PS Vita release date are more likely.

So, while we wait, it’s good to prepare yourself to buy some games. Sony PlayStation has already announced 100 titles for the PS Vita that will release. The five most anticipated games for the Vita are listed below:

Street Fighter x Tekken

When Capcom made a Nintendo 3DS version of Streetfighter, they actually did a great job. With the PSV, they are making Streetfighter x Tekken, a combination of two of the most favored characters of popular games.

For the Vita, Capcom has thrown in a new character: Cole McGrath from inFamous, powered by lightning.

Since we know the Vita will be able to cross over with the PS3, Capcom better make Streetfighter x Tekken compatible.

Streetfighter x Tekken is already available for preorder.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss

We’ve talked about Uncharted: Golden Abyss before. It’s the Number 1 Most Anticipated game for the PS Vita. When the Vita was revealed, it was Uncharted gameplay which we saw in trailers.

Set before the first Uncharted in a standalone tale, Uncharted: Golden Abyss features Nathan Drake in a quality so clear and precise, it is breathtaking. Remember: when the PS3 released, they used Uncharted as a “here’s what we can do” game, showing all the techs that put that console above the rest.

You can pre-order Uncharted: Golden Abyss today.

Army Corps of Hell

A PS Vita exclusive, Army Corps of Hell allows you to play as the King of Hell. He has been banished and, with the help of his army of goblin soldiers, is attempting to reclaim his rightful throne in Hell. Full of dark humor and a metal-type feel, Army Corps of Hell is a good time.

Ruin

Ruin seems like a Diablo-style game, visually a really high quality. It’s integrated with the social-networking of the Vita, though, which makes Ruin on a level of its own.

It will appeal to both casual and dedicated gamers. You can raid an opponents lair in real-time, play multiplayer, and more. The Cloud feature enables you to go from the PS3 to the Vita with ease.

Preorder Ruin for Vita today.

Katamari Damacy

A weirdness on all its own level, Katamari Damacy is more geared towards the casual gamer. It will incorporate the motion sensor on the Vita for a new gaming feel, making it one of the best launching games for the Vita.

PlayStation Teaser Trailer Revealed!

Alright: everyone was wrong about that mystery video clip that Sony posted online last week. Yes, the one that had all the different gaming characters with date 10.5.11 (today) on it.

Well, the full trailer has released, and everyone was wrong! It isn’t an announcement about anything, really, except for an official ad for the PlayStation 3 price drop to $249.

What is the point of the trailer? Well, if you watch it below, you’ll see. The goal of the video is to make you, the player, feel like the real hero: you are the only variable in each game, the true hero that makes the game-heroes successful. It’s actually quite brilliant, in our opinion.

We play games to feel excitement, to challenge our minds with strategy, to immerse ourselves into different worlds and time eras. We play war heroes during the 40s, flaming clowns, Greek warriors, timeless assassins, and so many more. We control the world of the heroes; therefore we are the ultimate hero.

Okay, I’ll admit: I’m a little disappointed that they weren’t talking about the PS4. But whatever! I still dig the video.
