PS4 Versus Xbox 720

Okay, it’s true nothing is truly known about the PlayStation 4 or Xbox 720, the next generation of consoles, but we can’t help but wonder: which will be better? What should you, as a gamer, be looking for when it comes time to shell out another $400-600?
It would be nice if there was one giant conglomerate for game consoles, a PXii kind of thing, but that will never happen. So what differentiates PlayStation games from Xbox gamers?
There are a few common grounds for the consoles that have gravitated players. Most Xbox players are dedicated to a certain game that is Xbox-only, like Halo or Gears of War. But games like Call of Duty span both consoles!
It all depends on what kind of gamer you are. Yes, PS and Xbox are both great for RPG-adventure games, personal shooters, and party games. We do admit, though, that the Xbox Kinect’s motion sensor (instead of a controller) beats the PSMove. A rumor a few months ago said that the PS4 was in development with a Kinect-type sensor, yet it is just a rumor.
But Sony has always had better quality graphics in the PlayStation than the Xbox, probably because they specialize in televisions and software while Microsoft focuses more on software.
I’ve heard so many complaints about the “red ring of death” on the Xbox 360, but the newer versions have already fixed this issue. So now what? They’re still beat on graphics.
Even though it broke down, PlayStation Network is very similar to Xbox Live, although it seems that Xbox Live ends up with more dedicated players due to their social connections: it’s always better to play with a friend than by yourself (FYI, this is why Wii will never be on par: they don’t have a comparable online network).
So where do you weigh in? Look at the current generation and tell us which console you prefer? What do you expect from the PS4 and Xbox 720 in the future? Which would you buy first?
Playstation 4 (PS4) vs. Xbox 720

The Playstation and Xbox have been going at it since Microsoft has gotten into the console business, and the next generation of consoles will be no different. The current consumer is not yet ready for the next generation of consoles, but its not too early to start looking at what may be coming, and what should be coming. A lot of crazy rumors have gone around regarding the Playstation 4, we have even help spread many of them (always in the Playstation 4 rumor section), but in reality it is not necessary for Playstation to launch first, and will likely not even be announced until a year after the Xbox 720.

Microsoft was only able to wait four years after the launch of the Xbox before they announced the Xbox 360, while the Playstation 3 was launched 6 years after the Playstation 2. Longer console life means more profitability for the company, and usually better services and products because of it! And the 2 year stretch has nothing on what Sony could get away with now…
The Xbox 720 will likely be necessary within a year or so for Microsoft to continue to keep pace with the Playstation 3 game capabilities, thats just to keep up. Few of the existing Playstation 3 games use all of the possible disk space that the Blu-Ray technology allows, meaning there is a lot of growth available still for the Playstation 3 market… And the longer the Playstation 3 can stay around, the less it will cost developers to utelize and thus more/better games.
With the Xbox 360 sales begining to drop, and current hardware limitations, it is likely that Microsoft will be the next to launch a new console… for now referred to as the Xbox 720. Current assumed plans for the Xbox 360 include price cuts for the coming Christmas sales rush, and possibly again late in the spring.

Xbox launching their next generation console likely 2 or 3 years before Sony even announces the next generation of Playstation, will give Sony the opportunity to live up to the 10 year console lifespan commited to earlier. This type of spread will also give Playstation amazing market share, and more than enough time to make up for all of the money invested into the Playstation 3, which lets admit, the Playstation 3 over delivers in every way the hardware can.
The number of upgrades that can still be added to the Playstation 3, make it unlikely to see a Playstation 4 in the next couple of years, and the only NECESSARY hardware upgrade is something to compete with the Wii motion sensing capabilities… wonder if it will be an upgrade or introduced on the Playstation 4?
In our opinion Playstation 4 will stand head and shoulders above the Xbox 720, and likely have foes we have not even known yet… could Apple be brewing up a system? Xbox or Playstation 4, who do you think will launch first?
