Sony Santa Monica best known as the creators of God of War is leaving Santa Monica and expanding. A new office that is 4 or 5 times bigger in size has been picked by the company; it is located in a Playa Vista Neighborhood near the Los Angel Airport (LAX).
The new offices have an improved sound bay and also feature more conference rooms and a motion capture studio. They also have more room to house independent teams like Giant Sprrow developers of Unfinished Swan, thatgamecompany developer of Journey, flOw, and Flower, and SuperBot developer of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. There is also room for the 270 person team to grow even larger.
“With the new space we will have more to offer,” studio head Shannon Studstill said.
They have yet to announce anything regarding a name change. Sony Santa Monica is currently working on an unannounced major project for the PS4, it is possible that it is not another God of War, they are also collaborating on the PS4 game The Order: 1886 with the game’s developer Read at Dawn.
They are also working in collaboration with 2 other games, which are: Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture with British developer The Chinese Room and Hohokum with British developer Honeyslug.
