A GTA v fan asked Rockstar Games via Twitter on December 26th if Rockstar planned on expanding its Grand Theft Auto series to the next generation with Grand Theft Auto 5. A staff member responded by saying the company has not revealed any information about the subject of adding GTA V to the next gen. Here is the exact statement:
“Unfortunately, we have not released any information about that.”
A customer service representative from Amazon said to wait until the first week of 2014 to ask questions about GTA V on the next gen consoles.
Another Rockstar staff member also stated that they have been getting a lot of rants via Twitter about the GTA Online servers not working the way they should and they stated that you should keep an eye on the Server Status page on the Rockstar Support Website. Here is an official statement about the servers:
“We have been getting reports of issues related to the R* Cloud server. We currently are investigating these reports.”
GTA Plans to support GTA V and GTA V Online through 2014 by releasing many DLCs for the game, some of which will be free while the more ambitious ones will have a little cost. Hopefully though, they do get the GTA Online servers fixed for the current gen consoles before expanding to the next generation.
