Mario Kart isn’t even out yet but the game makers are already smiling because they are hoping the Wii U will finally be making some money. Player Essence caught a pic of the Amazon Japan site’s best sellers. No need to take my word for it head over to Amazon Japan’s Top Sellers and see for yourself. For historical purposes I will add a screenshot to the post also.
Mario Kart 8 leads the pack, followed by Yakuza Ishin for the PS3; then Dragon Quest Monsters for the Nintendo 3DS. Then comes the PlayStation 4, the most surprising part is how much the difference is between Mario Kart 8 and the PS4 on the chart.
Mario Kart 8 has been atop the list for a while now as the PlayStation 4 is set to be released on February 22nd in Japan. There is some serious love for Mario Kart in the Japan gamers. The reason Mario kart 8 got such a huge boost is Nintendo Direct; where they announced a lot of new games for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U didn’t receive any new update son titles, but Nintendo focused instead on the much anticipated games for the Wii U, Monolith Soft’s X and Mario Kart 8.
Nintendo revealed a new trailer for Mario Kart 8 which will feature new characters, new tracks, new specials and a ton of fun as always gameplay.
We all know this is only a temporary thing, it won’t be very long before the PS4 overtakes the Wii U in overall sales, so therefore Mario Kart 8 won’t be topping the PS4 in Japan very long. Until then, we wish the best for Nintendo; even if they are competitors.
