Not using the Cell processor is nuts. The developers are starting to use the cell not just in games but in blade servers.

As for multi-core, do the research the cell by design is 7 cores on 1 die (Yes 7).

Just make the development tools better, but I guess that would be too easy.

overheat? you must be mistaken for the xbox 360.
My fat ps3 never over heated even with 6 hours of constant gameplay, and also 10 hours of being left on as a tv/dvd entertainment center,

not to mention my new ps3 slim, swapped out via warranty at best buy, and the old ps3 was still working. lol anyway no overheating issues here, and i dont believe that over heating has ever been an issue for sony, maybe for people who dont keep there ps3 in a well ventilated area.

Thats the lamest thing iv ever heard it took IBM and sony years to make the Cell Processor. There not going to get rid of it and if they did get rid of it that would be a stupid move on sony's part seeing that all there exclusive ps3 games use the Cell engine to help with graphics. Which means the Ps4 wouldnt be backwards compatible with ps3 games which means they'd have to make a whole new line up of games. Which doesnt make sense to me.

I think this is likely. One other advantage is that it will use less power and as such give the marketing boys something to promote.
