Sony said yesterday that they are still working on the problem that is causing PS4 game saves to get corrupted. Since the first parts of December, just weeks after the PS4’s launch players have been reporting the “CE-34878-0” error after some attempts to save games failed. There are more than 400 messages on the PlayStation Forum discussing this problem, including many about losing countless hours of gameplay.
Some gamers report that the forum coordinator’s suggestion to install the latest system software and game patches, and looking through PS4 error codes support does not solve the issue. While others have said that it does, some gamers say that disconnecting the PS4 from the internet resolved the issue.
The quote we have gotten from Sony has been from a spokesman at SCE Tokyo saying “With regards to the error code, we are aware of the cases and we appreciate your patience while we investigate,” he also stated that he was unable to comment any further on the subject.
The games affected by this problem have reportedly been Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, FIFA 14, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and Madden NFL 25.
The error code in question is a warning that a PS4 app has crashed and it tells the player to back up their saved data and initialize their console if the bug persists.
