Police say a Lake Wylie Wal-Mart Employee Stole $440 in PlayStation 4 Controllers


An employee from the Wal-Mart in Lake Wylie was arrested just last week for stealing eight PlayStation 4 Controllers from the stores racks and throwing all of the packaging in the stores restroom trash cans, according to authorities.

According to the York County Sheriff’s report, Deputies were dispatched to the Wal-Mart after a asset protection manager reported that he saw an employee stealing from the store via their surveillance cameras.

The employee took the controls of the stores racks and then walked towards the bathroom with them, the employee was identified as Robert Adam Hager, he is 19 years old, and from Gastonia. He was said to have removed the controllers from their packaging and then stuffed the packaging from the controllers at the bottom of the trash can.

The 8 controllers were worth a total of $440, according to the report.

The Deputies spoke to Hagar after he turned himself in to the police, after he learned that they were going to issue a warrant for his arrest. He was charged with breach of trust and was released from jail on Friday on a $470 bail.
