PlayStation Can Render 1080p at 60fps With Room to Spare According to Kojima

Hideo Kojima the creator of Metal Gear Solid is a major supporter of the PS4. He said in an interview that Sony’s new console is so powerful that it can render a game in 1080p at 60fps with “room to spare.” Kojima made these comments in an interview with a Japanese gaming magazine called Famitsu, in a new section called “conversations with creators.”

“I think, between the home consoles available in the domestic market, the PS4 is the best,” Kojima said. “It’s also excellent for graphics, being able to render 1080p at 60fps with room to spare. Since it does it a little better than other hardware, the image quality of the PS4 is the most beautiful. It’s the closest to the photorealistic quality we are aiming at.”

Kojima carefully did not make a direct comparison to the Xbox One, but it still appears that the industry veteran prefers Sony’s next gen console over Microsoft’s.

This marks the second time that Kojima has praised the PS4; just last week he stated that the PS4 version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes looked “slightly better” on the PlayStation 4 than the Xbox One. The company has yet to reveal the exact resolution of the game on the PlayStation  4, the game’s publisher, Konami will release a trailer of the game which will highlight the differences between the platforms soon.
