PlayStation Display Bundle Release Date

Since we’ve been following the PlayStation 3D Display from the announcement during E3, we’re up-to-date on all release dates that have been passed around the web. The one that irritates us the most is the idea that it’s December 31, 2011, the filler date Amazon uses when they know an item will release before the end of the year.
It’s silly to even think that Sony will use an after-Christmas release date for the PS Display, but it could be possible. Possible, but not likely at all. In fact, most electronic devices, like games and platforms and even the PS Vita, release during the holiday season before Christmas, so that it can be purchased as a gift. It is the highest sales time for this merchandise genre, and it’s always before Christmas, and usually before Black Friday.
This year Black Friday lands on November 25. What is interesting now is that GameStop posted the pre-order for the PS 3D Display as November 26, the day after Black Friday. This seems way more likely than the so-called December 31 release date, since people will spend November 25th in lines for Black Friday deals, and then the following day getting their hands on a PS Monitor.
This is a good aim date, but we could still see the PlayStation Display releasing earlier in November. So far, Sony has yet to state an official PS Display release date, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Furthermore, the PlayStation 3D Display Bundle has been updated. Last week we talked about how Resistance 3 in the bundle was replaced with Motorstorm Apocalypse, but it seems the ante has been upped once again. Now, if you preorder the PlayStation Display Bundle, you will get: the PlayStation 3D Monitor, PlayStation 3D Glasses, an HDMI cord, as well as Motorstorm Apocalypse and Resistance 3. That’s right: Resistance 3 is being included at no additional cost if you preorder.

Once again, Sony comes out with a cool idea, but sets the price point as unattainable for most gamers who can’t even afford the cost of new games these days. Not only is it costly, but only comes in one size, and lets be honest, 24″ may be too small for some, especially with SimulView multiplayer in mind.
