Sony seem to be pulling ahead more in this generation’s console wars. Sony announced that the estimate worldwide sales for the PlayStation 4 stands around 5.3 million units sold as of February 8th. This is before the PlayStation 4 makes their debut in Japan on the 22nd of this month; which is very close, this Saturday to be exact.
The latest PS4 count came after a market research firm NPD Group had announced that the PlayStation 4 was the best-selling console in the United States in January.
The Xbox One was the leader in December in the US; however the most recent numbers from Microsoft were that the Xbox One had 3 million units sold up until December 31st.
During the build up to the latest console wars most gamers picked the PlayStation 4 to be the early leader, which happened because of the PlayStation 4 having less controversial questions and a lower price than the Xbox One.
