A lot of people were surprised that Sony didn’t release the PS4 in Japan first since it was the trend with the rest of the console, since Sony is a Japanese Company. Sony instead changed the landscape and shipped the consoles west, where the main part of the console war takes place, Sony made the right move as they sold 2.1 million consoles in the matter of two weeks making it the fastest selling console of all time.
Sony should win the console war in Japan any way, since it’s a Japanese company as stated before, but they are getting a little impatient waiting for their new console, as showed in this video of the first commercial in Japan.
The video consists of gamers waiting in line to buy their PS4, some gaming clips of people laughing and playing, and then they show the Japanese release date after showing an aerial shot of Japan. Sony’s next gen console, the PlayStation 4 launched in North America on November 15th and in Europe on November 29th. Since then it has been releasing in different places around the world including some Asian countries, Japan already has its release date set for February 22nd 2014, and by what we can see they are highly anticipating the arrival of the PS4.
