This new console has rich and immersive game play and very powerful graphics, with top of the line memory and integrated social features that will make it more fun for gamers to interact with each other.

To kick off their announcement, Sony shared that there are currently 140 games in development for the PlayStation 4, and 40 of them will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 console only. Over 100 of these titles will be available within the first 12 months of the PlayStation 4 release! This is amazing and means that the PlayStation 4 will be very game-heavy.

PlayStation AppThe new PlayStation 4 console will be able to learn your preferences and adjust what it shows you based on what it knows you already like – in terms of game genres, game creators, and other game content. Players can look at game-related information that is shared by their friends, easily gain or obtain information about games, TV shows, and movies, or they can spectate their friends’ games – they can even jump in to help their friends when they are struggling through the PlayStation Network! Players will even be able to stream clips of their game play to friends on the network with little effort!

In addition, the PlayStation 4 PlayGo feature allows the PlayStation 4 console to instantly start playing your game – while the download for the other content, updates, or installation continue in the background. No delay in getting straight into your games.

remote_play_ps4Remote Play with the PS Vita is another big feature, allowing users to walk away from their console with the Vita, continuing their game play even when they cannot use the console.

Another great feature will be the PlayStation 4 App – this app will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Android based smartphones and tablets

With 40 games exclusive to the PlayStation 4, and 140 games in development, there are so many games that will be available for the new console.

  1. Those game developers are both targeting the “juice” left in PlayStation 3 consoles… and GTA has always released two versions for each console, so this will be their second version on the PS3. They don’t plan to focus on GTA 6 for PS3, but they said they’ll like work on it in the future. We do know that GTA 7 and 8 should both be on the PS4 though, following the pattern of release for GTA.

  2. Is the ps4 going to have more room to write in the comment space from what we’re able to write now on the ps3? Like maybe making the limit 60+characters will be great.

  3. Will I be able to play PS1, 2, & 3 games on this console? One of the reasons I never bought the PS3 was that it was not retro compatible.

  4. I can dig all the tech jargin being talked about. But, what about the networking. I have most of the consoles all the bak to Atari hooled up and working. Being able to talk to my freinds openly while playing differnt games is the best feature. Will this console have something like this?

  5. In addition to the traditional D-Pad, analog sticks, shoulder buttons, and classic Playstation buttons, the Dual Shock 4 controller will feature a touch pad which can be used to control camera angles or other aspects of game play. It will also feature a 3.5 MM headphone jack so you can use a headset to talk and interact with other players.
