On December 1, 2011, we saw the first official Sony PlayStation Vita commercial air in Japan. This version has some English in it, but you won’t be able to hear everything.

In Japan, the device launches December 17; in the United States, we won’t see it until February 22 (or Feb 15 if you order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle).

The Vita, which networks with social-media sites as well as hardcore gaming, features dual analog sticks, a touch-screen front, touch-pad back, and two cameras to integrate life and gaming into one portable device. It is bound to be a hit, since it does more than the 3DS.

PlayStation announced a special deal yesterday about the PlayStation Vita. If you pre-order the PS Vita First Edition Bundle, you will get the Vita one week early!

That’s right: while everyone waits until the Feb. 22, 2012 release date, you will get your Vita on February 15.

The special edition First Edition Bundle is $349.99, but it has some special, limited edition features. For example, there is an exclusive PS Vita case, which is hard and kind of resembles a glasses case. You’ll also get the 3G/Wi-Fi version (the more expensive Vita), a 4GB memory card, and Little Deviants, an addictive game which uses all of the Vita’s unique features for a brand new gaming experience.

And we can’t say that the week-early delivery isn’t awesome, either.

Make sure your get your hands on the hottest new portable gaming device, the PlayStation Vita, coming in February 2012.

PS Vita Official Release Date!

Just yesterday, Sony finally made the big announcement about the PlayStation Vita that we’ve been waiting for: the official release date! It’s been pushed back and back from what we were originally expecting (“holidays” 2011) but, finally, we know the real date:

February 22, 2012!

We were expecting February, and we were right! There have been estimations of the Vita earning over 10 million dollars before the end of the fiscal quarter (March). With the Vita’s unique features, of course it’s realistic.

In case you don’t know, the PlayStation Vita is the PSP (PlayStation Portable) successor, but 100 times better. It sports a 5-inch OLED display with multi-touch sensors, a rear touch-pad, dual analog sticks, and 6-axis motion sensors. This means that games feature unique game-play that, before now, we have never seen before, and it makes the Vita perfect for hardcore gamers.

It’s called Vita since “vita” means “life” in Latin. Sony spokesmen have said it augments reality and game-play into one addictive experience, enabling social networking, integrated reality into games, and so much more.

Don’t miss out on the PS Vita! It’s already been pre-ordered, even before the official release date was set, so expect this baby to fall off the shelves faster than it can be stocked! Already we know of several Vita games set for the release date as well.
