SonyPS4.com recently ran a contest for designers and fans of the Sony Playstation brand to design what they think the Playstation 4 console could look like. Below is the design and concept model for the Playstation 4 that was above and beyond the most amazing design submitted. Throughout the entire site you can see various Playstation 4 designs and concepts, but this is the one we really think represents the current trends in design.
There is a retro/tech design that has been incredibly popular in the last 5 years or so, and we find it incredibly likely that the Playstation 4 could offer this type of design, making it not just useful but more visually appealing as a part of every Playstation 4 owner's entertainment system. These designs are all produced on behalf of SonyPS4.com and do not represent anything from the actual Sony company, these concept designs for the Playstation 4 are to be considered fan art and do not represent anything official regarding the Playstation 4, as soon as an official design is released we will let you know.
Below is a couple of pictures featuring some of the Playstation 4 concept designs like this one, various angles and styles. This is by far one of the better Playstation 4 concept designs that have been released and we are proud to have our name on it. Feel free to use any of these concept designs on your personal blog or forum, they were made to be shared!

Sony Slim Playstation 3 Cheaper

Sony has officially announced and released the Slim Sony Ps3... and they said it was all rumors. The Slim Playstation 3 has just hitĀ the shelves and as well as a sleek new design, the Slim Playstation 3 features a new price. The Slim Playstation 3 is going to debut at the very low cost of $299, thats right, all of the great features of the original Playstation 3 console wrapped in a much more sleek design and for 100 dollars less, looks like Christmas shopping just got that much easier.
Sony claimed it was all a bunch of internet rumors, and more or less ignored the fact that it was well known that the Playstation 3 was ready to reduce in size and cost. On September 1st the playstation 3 Slim will debut, a thinner console that uses less energy, and is only $299
The whole idea that Sony had thrown a blind eye to the issue was not lost on them though. One of the best commercials... of course were bias, is this one below that was launched by the Sony Ad crew, and is just awesome.
Great way for the Playstation guys to recognize, yes there are tons of rumors out there... and NO, they are not likely to be the ones to have told you first, nor will they confirm any of those rumors... Just some side humor to go with the launch of the Slim Playstation 3 at an amazing cost of only $299
The Slim Playstation 3 is a great console at a great price, is highly recomended, and is set to hit shelves Sept. 1, but untill then lets take a look at what the new Playstation 3 console is going to look like. Below are a couple of images released by Sony, a top view and a side view featured, very sleek, very modern, and very likely to be a huge hit.

The Playstation 3 is likely to be a big hit, especially with christmas just around the corner, and the price drop could not have come at a better time for the holiday shopping! The new Playstation 3 Slim is a great opportunity for those that have not yet moved on from their Playstation 2, to finally do so.
Many are spectulatong that the Playstation 4 release will be pushed back even father due to the price drop in the Playstation 3. A cheaper Playstation 3 leans to the theory that Sony will begin pushing much lower cost and more niche games through the Playstation Network, offering users to play more games for less money.
Sony Playstation 4 Games – Downloadable

The Sony Playstation 4 could possibly be the first of a new type of consoles, one that won't require disks, or a tangible game at all. While this may seem like a far-fetched concept, more and more intangibles are becoming only available through downloads. Look at many of the recent additions to the online playstation store... or for that matter, outside of the gaming industry, Napster or iTunes. Game consoles like the XBox 360 and the Nintendo Wii also do downloadable games and downloadable game add-ons online.
Could this concept take over the the majority of sales for games over the next decade?

Playstation Store
Some of the most popular titles that Playstation gamers can download right now areĀ Final Fantasy VII and Battlefield: 1943, and at a much more reasonable price than they would or have been available in stores. This gives the Sony company the ability to sell their games to their players at the most reasonable prices possible, and the ability to pay developers as much as possible. No big game distributors or retail stores acting as game brokers for the public means big savings and more niche games for players everywhere.
This type of direct marketing can be exactly what Sony needs to put the Playstation back as the number one console. While the Playstation 3 is arguably a more capable console than that of it's competitors, the amount of money required to produce Playstaion 3 consoles or develop Playstation games has led to a difficult year for Sony in 2008. Sony has spent the majority of this slow economic period implementing and adding to the Playstation Network and the Playstation Store, further developing and increasing their brand, and making the first of many downloadable games.
The Playstation Store is Playstation's very own virtual marketplace available to Playstation 3 and PSP gamers, offering a full range of downloadable content for purchase and available free of charge. The downloadable content available from within the Playstation store ranges from complete games, modified games, game trailers, movies, and various tv shows, with more being added all of the time.
This new type of marketing begs the question, does Sony need the game distributors anymore?
While it is unlikely that the Playstation 4 will have no diskdrive, it is becoming more and more likely that the majority of the titles released for the future gaming consoles will be released over private networks and available for download... which I got to admit sounds nice - no more having to stand in line to reach a sold out sign! The future of gaming very well could be in downloadable game content and the Playstation Network Store, putting a lot more power back into the hands of the gamers!
Downloadable games require a far smaller investment to produce and make available to the public, just as downloadable music has opened up a more broad spectrum of music, downloadable game networks are likely increase the availablity of more interest specific games.

Just found an interesting ad on Craigslist...
This is an amazing hoax, but question really is, I wonder if the console will really offer the ability to project 3-d models...
And don't you think it would be worth more than 1k right now???
Sony Playstation 4 - $1000
Date: 2009-06-07, 11:46PM PDT
This is a prototype of Sony's next console, the Playstation 4. Aside from retaining the blue-ray playing capabilities of its predecessor, the Playstation 4 features the ability to project 3-d models and environments into your living room. This is the most advanced gaming console on the planet. Comes with God of War 4 and a beta version of Gran Turismo 6 installed directly on the systems 1 TB hard-drive. I got the console from a connection at Sony, only selling it because I need the money.
Make an offer.
