Japanese Playstation Store Beyond Playstation

The Japanese Playstation store has continued to increase their available game list beyond anything that is available to the American audience and even more superior when compared to the European Playstation Network. The most recent additions to the Japanese Playstation store are even outside the realm of something you would expect from Playstation… They are Turbografx-16 games!

Remember the short lived Turbografx-16, while it wasn’t the best console of its time, it did have quite a few great games, 5 of which Sony is now offering to their Japanese Playstation Network audience! Imaging the possibility of picking and choosing your favorite titles from all of the consoles of yesteryear. The game options are truly amazing and this can be one of the best moves for Sony when trying to recapture their audience, and put them back in the number one spot when it comes to at home gaming consoles.

What really needs to happen now, is Sony needs to release these titles to the American and European audiences. With so many of these classic titles and so many of these as former favorites, it should be the logical next move for Sony to unleash the classics at the very least, hopefully soon!

The Playstation Network is likely to remain the front line for future changes for the Playstation brand, at least over the next several months, this will give Sony the ability to build up their online network during a time when traditional sales are suffering due to economic issues. While all of this is likely putting off the Playstation 4 release, it all encompasses the infrastructure necessary to really stand out in the coming years.
