News is out that Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV would be coming to Sony’s next-gen game console, PlayStation 4. It was earlier named as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but then renamed to Final Fantasy XV taking advantage of the features of the PS4 to bring a game that would surpass gamers’ expectations.
According to Square Enix, the main concept, story line and world of the original game has been retained in Final Fantasy XV. The game involves the Niflheim forces launching a massive “Blitzkrieg”on the Lucis Kingdom. They force the Prince Noctis and accomplices off the throne and land.
The Final Fantasy XV now includes better gameplay, action elements and higher graphics. This has been made possible because of the powerful hardware configurations of the PS4. However, the developer has made some major changes to make the action role-playing game different from its previous installment. There is a more real-like and darker environment where the emphasis is on more authentic characters and human emotions.
There are open environments in the game and a unique battle system that can be customized by the gamers. This gives you a significant amount of freedom with regard to your favored play method.
The storyline in Final Fantasy XV for PS4 is base don the mythology of the Fabula Nova Crystallis, which has remained a constant through the game series. However, there is not going to be any direct relation with the previous installments. The designs, characters and world elements are different.
The character Noctis Lucis Caelum is the protagonist and he is the crown prince of the royal family protecting the last of the crystal in this distant world while ruling over a city that is technologically highly advanced. After the city is invaded, the objective of the protagonist is to defeat the warring nation and getting the crystal back. As the game progresses, Noctis would come to meet Stella Nox Fleuret who is also able to see the unexplained light that connects them to the Goddess of the Dead.
While Sony revealed Final Fantasy XV for PS4 at E3, Square Enix revealed why the game was renamed Final Fantasy XV. The name of the game was announced to be Final Fantasy Versus XIII almost a couple of years ago. Versus was a popular title at that time, but the developer had to change it with the change in the direction of the company.
Square Enix also claimed that they decided to develop for PS4 because it made more sense to them. One reason was because the launch date for Final Fantasy XV was close to that of Sony’s next-gen console.
The developer may claim the timing to be the major reason, but experts claim that it is what PS4 holds under the hood that is drawing so many video game publishers to the console. An 8GB GDDR5 RAM, a massive hard drive, a powerful processor and GPU make PS4 the first choice for every video game developer. Gamers would have to wait eagerly until the Holiday Season when Sony would come out with their new console and the next year for Final Fantasy XV release.
