In a remarkable success the launch of Final Fantasy VII on to the Playstation Network at the start of June experienced an amazing number of downloads, which has only been growing since the Final Fantasy VII launch two weeks ago.
Final Fantasy VII has already been downloaded more then 100,000 times! That amazing statistic puts Final Fantasy VII as the fastest selling PS1 game to be released onto the Playstation Network.
This is just one more example of how downloadable games are quickly taking over the video game market, leading us to believe we are only a few console generations away from losing the disk/cartirdge all togther… This is a whole new type of ownership, and could give the opportunity for cheaper more widely available game titles.
