The current console war between Sony and Microsoft is current being won by Sony, with the PlayStation 4 having sold 4.2 million consoles in 2013 compared to the Xbox One having 3 million consoles sold, and most people believe that the PS4’s awesome specs will keep it in the lead for this console generation war. For hardcore gamers who are looking for raw power, the PS4 is the answer, and now comments from yet another satisfied game developer shows that Sony did develop a real powerhouse this time around.
Recently we discussed the Red Barrels Team, and their game “Outlast” that they are working on porting over from PC to the PS4. The game was called one of the scariest games on PC last year. It was very intensive as it ran at 60 fps.
Phillipe Morin, the co-founder of Red Barrels, said in GamingBolt’s blog that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will run at 60 frames per second just like the PC version, and it will be in full HD as well.
“We didn’t run into any issues,” Morin said when asked if his team had any problems porting the game to the PS4, since the PlayStation’s processor isn’t exactly on par with high-end PC gaming rigs. “We’re using all the cores and the [amount of] RAM also helps. As far as we’re concerned, both versions look the same.”
