The PlayStation 4’s racing game, Driveclub has been delayed in Japan and it will miss the console launch in the region. This game is developed by Motorstorm’s developer Evolution Studios and it was due to release on February 33nd alongside the PS4 console launch in Japan. Inside Games has reported that Sony Japan has said that for “various reasons” there will be an unplanned bump for the game.
The original launch date for Driveclub was supposed to be on November 15th with the PlayStation 4 console in the US alongside Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack. But it looked like this was just not meant to be, in October it was pushed back to 2014, the developer said they needed more time to finish the new racing IP.
“Driveclub will be a truly innovative, socially connected racing game, but the team requires more time in order to deliver on their vision–and I’m fully confident the game will surpass your expectations,” said Sony worldwide studios president Shuhei Yoshida last year.
“The extra time we’re giving the team means the visuals and overall experience are only going to get better. We can assure you that it will be worth the wait.”
When Driveclub does release it will be sold as a normal retail game, but there will also be a cut down version available for PlayStation Plus users.
