The designer of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag claims that Sony’s PlayStation 4 is a “perfect jewel.” He further added that the onus would be on the developers to capitalize on the potential of the new-generation gaming console.
Sony is said to have produced a highly developer-friendly console in the PS4. The test versions of the console have undergone continual changes and fixes, and the designer claims that it is now up to the developers to push the limits higher in the gaming world, as Sony has already played its crucial part.
Ubisoft’s representative further claims that developing for the PlayStation 4 has been highly intuitive and utilizing the console’s enhanced system specifications would allow them to take graphics to an entirely new level. Even the best console in the current generation is running at its 100%, which means developers cannot do much to get more out of them. However, with the PS4, they could add more details that could help turn their games more attractive and impressive.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is set to be launched on thePlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC in October this year. In addition, Ubisoft is also working on developing the game for PlayStation 4. However, the developer has not yet revealed any information about the launch on the next generation of Xbox.
The 6th major edition in the successful game franchise has its plot set in 1715, when the Caribbean is ruled by pirates and rule an anarchisticpirate republic. Edward Kenway is a formidable young captain in these pirates. The British pirate is a member of the elite Assassin Order. The protagonist is the grandfather of Connor and father of Haytham Kenway, the two lead characters in the previous edition in the title. They would also have real-life characters like the pirates Benjamin Hornigold, Edward Blackbeard Teach, Jack Rackham, Anne Bonny and Charles Vane.
The story of the game would cover 3 major cities –Kingston, Nassau and Havana that are dominated by pirate, English and Spanish influence. In addition, gamers would be able to explore 50 locations with 40% of them being naval explorations.
The new game is expected to have an even more enriched open world experience. The missions are more like those in the previous installment, but the world would open up sooner. Relatively, Assassin’s Creed III didn’t offer much freedom of exploration in the game. You would encounter forts, jungles, small villages and ruins, and the game gives more freedom–capturing passing ships and swimming around.
As Sony takes the world of gaming to the next level with the powerful PS4, the Assassin’s Creed IV seems to be having the ideal features to get the most out of the new console. The game would have a new feature, the ship Jackdaw. It would keep getting upgraded through the game. There is a new underwater feature and a spyglass that enables gamers to examine distant ships and their strength and cargo. You can also use it to check islands for animals, treasures and high points. It would be worthwhile to keep an eye on the game’s launching and new features and how Ubisoft would release it on PS4.
