A slim new Sony Playstation 3 by Christmas?

A slimmer new version of the Playstation 3 is rumored to be not only in the works, but set to hit the stores as early as this coming holiday season. The slimmer version of a Playstation 3 has been on the drawing boards and in rumors for quite some time now, although it is now expected to finally be released, in the fourth quarter of 2009. But slim is not all that the new Playstation 3 has to offer. There are a lot of rumors about what could be included in the next generation of the Playstation 3... but only a few substantial ones.

There is expected to be an upgrade of the whole online functionality and system of the Playstation 3, this of course wont require a new console but should increase game play and over all desire (and hopefully market share) for the Playstation 3. The main additions will include an upgrade to the software, that will add the abilities for users to rate eachother as well as the ability to report players to Sony.

There is a ton of spectulation on what will be included in terms of updating the online Playstation systems, and nothing can be said for sure...

But you can surely expect a slimmer, less expensive, more capapble Playstation 3 this Christmas
